About
Aliza J. Sokolow is a celebrated author, chef, and media personality whose work bridges the worlds of culinary artistry and storytelling. Her debut children’s book, This Is What I Eat, was released by Random House Kids in January 2023, inspiring young readers to embrace healthy eating habits. Aliza also hosts a recurring cooking segment on FOX 11’s Good Day LA, where she shares creative, health-focused recipes, including an upcoming feature celebrating Jewish traditions with her take on latkes.
Aliza’s professional journey began as a food stylist for Jamie Oliver's acclaimed Food Revolution, where her contributions earned an Emmy Award, two additional Emmy nominations, and a James Beard Media Award. Her work has been featured in prestigious publications such as The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Bon Appétit, The Wall Street Journal, and The Los Angeles Times. She has also appeared in media outlets including ABC, CBS, FOX 11, and KCRW’s Good Food.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Aliza is deeply committed to community and global impact. She serves on the boards of the Tel Aviv Institute and the UC Berkeley Food Institute and regularly organizes volunteer initiatives, including events at Our Big Kitchen LA, aimed at repairing the world through acts of service. Her passion for food and community stems from her early experiences cooking at Camp Alonim, where she cultivated her love for the culinary arts and the power of food to bring people together.
